How to integrate using SCORM

By following the steps on the following pages, you can integrate your tapybl interactive video-based course into an external learning management system (LMS), in this instance Moodle, using SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model).

Remember, to integrate tapybl content using SCORM the content must be published first on tapybl.

When using SCORM as the integration mechanism a whole course can be surfaced up on the external LMS.

How to integrate using SCORM

1. Login to your tapybl workspace dashboard

2. Press Courses in the left-hand side menu to access your list of courses and choose the published course you want to surface up in your external LMS.

1. Press the course editor icon. Remember the red box around the course editor indicates the course is published.

2. Press the ‘Export as SCORM’ button. This will download a zip file, containing the course manifest to your local device. You are now finished with tapybl as far as

integrating this course using SCORM goes

1. Open your external LMS in a different browser window and go to your Course.

2. Press the ‘Edit mode’ slider at the top right of the screen to ensure you are in edit mode.

3. Press the ‘Add an activity or resource’ button to add your SCORM activity.

1. In the Activity chooser press ‘All’ then ‘SCORM package’.

2. Give your SCORM package a name. You can also give it a description but this is optional.

1. Tap the SCORM package field to upload the SCORM zip file you downloaded from Tapybl. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the zip file into the field.

2. Enter a name to save the zip file as and press ‘Upload file’.

3. Add any other settings to your activity as you would normally, then scroll to the bottom and press ‘Save and return to course’ or ‘Save and display’.

1. If you have pressed ‘Save and return to course’ you will see your newly created SCORM package activity listed in your course.

2. Press the SCORM activity name to view the SCORM package content.

1. Press ‘Enter’ to preview your SCORM package activity.

2. You have now learnt how to integrate your interactive tapybl content in the form of a course with your external LMS using SCORM.
